dormirait tranquillement Ma petite affaire.

Paris, 6 May 1831.

Here is [Barbo?]’s bill to pay. You can still have him come and explain what I have written at the foot of it.
Return the enclosed letter from the Prefect to Mr Moulainy. As I do not believe I can wait fifteen days without replying, I ask Moulainy to propose a reply to me, which he will consider thoroughly and [bring out?], not in the collector’s interest but in that of the [revenue receivers?] and of revenue collection. I urge him to deal with it as soon as possible.
Tell him also that Mr [Fourqueron?], head of the private secretariat, must have written to the Prefect several days ago to inform him that the [elections?] at [Rennes?] and Rouen have been postponed to the [7th?] of this month.
I have given a payment order for [400?] francs to my wife, to be entered under petty cash.
I have received your letter of yesterday. It is good that you remit to the Banque de France three payment orders, supplied on the 6th, 11th and 16th; send me a note of each one.
I have added the indicated items to the petty-cash interest.
I am returning the [instructions?] for the King. I knew well that [with that?] my small business matter would sleep peacefully.
You will doubtless cover the bank at Rouen largely with the timber-cutting bills and customs drafts which you have to collect, as had been agreed with Mr [name uncertain].
I see in the newspaper the second list of payments towards the National Loan. I have been unable to find the issue containing the first list. Send me a copy of each of the two lists and of those you receive subsequently.
I am writing

actuellement.
Tout à vous [paraphe]

directly to Mr [name uncertain] that he may receive the notes maturing in three to four months which would be paid to him as customs revenue instead of to [Bl…?], and that he may request some of these notes for [Duvernois?]. When the requested [uncertain word] receipt reaches you, send it to Mr [Ledru?], telling him that this is in accordance with his letter of the 15th. However, I believe that the Treasury will not allow this for long, as it is short of funds at present.
Yours entirely, [paraph]

Notes

The requested receipt is described by one uncertain preceding word. The source reads recette demandée across the line break. The preceding word is not securely crossed out.
