Paris, 29 April 1830 [year as written; the account below runs to 1831].
Enclosed is my separate letter about my participation in the Loan.
Here is the sale statement for 5,000 francs of annuities, to be applied in tenths against the Loan. I shall only pay for it in tenths and, for the time being, as the settlement requires.
Here is [Haas’s?] letter. I am answering him directly, promising [to honour?] his order for 95.60, and sending him a [word crossed out] stamped receipt in settlement of my claim on the Reiset estate, [which owes me?] 1,325.65, value 30 April. He must give me that amount, as follows.
It owed me 6,635 on 1 January 1830.
387 in interest taken up to 1 March 1831.
Total 7,022.
Received on account on 28 February, 5,707.28.
Balance 1,314.72.
Interest to 30 April, 10.93.
Total 1,325.65.
In my books the balance of this account on 1 January is only:
✓ 6,966.75.
✓ 5,707.28 [words crossed out] debited to [Haas?].
✓ 1,259.47. The following entry must be made:
66.18 through the interest account,
and ✓ 1,325.65 to the debit of [Haas?] in settlement, in accordance with my receipt in full dated 30 April.
Please always give me the balance of my suspended [accounts?] at the head of the list of securities.
Obtain information for me as soon as possible about the firm of Lamotte & Co. in Le Havre.
I have received

your letter of yesterday.
You need not wait for the bank’s entire [97,443.90?] to be collected before making return remittances to it. Send me back the bank’s statement and I shall tell you how to stagger those remittances.
I see that Bourgeois is [so?] [crossed out: too] overburdened with this business. Well then, give the customs [deposit?] to the bank. I shall explain matters to it on my return.
Yes, it is I, [D…?] Reiset, who should be debited with the 500 francs on [Dieppe?].
A thousand friendly wishes. [of discount?]
[Henry?]
Notes
The bank’s figure has been overwritten. The abbreviated designation beside the closing and the autograph remain uncertain.
