Ensemble 45500. C’est donc

Paris, 28 April 1831.
You already know that I have taken some part in the Loan of 120 million. Before setting out the entries to be made as a result, I had to wait until the outcome of the requests made to us, the sums allotted, the published reductions and, finally, the first payments had been definitively established.
With my former colleagues in finance, I joined, under M. de Laporte’s name, the company to which the Loan was awarded at a price of 84 francs, as the thirteenth participant with the firms whose names you have read in the newspapers. We were definitively allotted a share of 632,000 francs of annual rente.
From that sum we took for ourselves [seven?] [crossed-out words]:
133,000, at 19,000 francs each;
281,500 for the people who had requested it from us;
total 414,500, carried across: 414,500.
We reassigned to those of our [crossed-out word] colleagues who had requested it 217,500.
Personally, my own share was initially 19,000, then 26,500 from the requests made, together 45,500. Thus it is

on the basis of 45,500 francs of annual rente, which at a price of 84 francs gives 764,400 of capital, that the payments in which I have to participate are calculated.
To avoid mixing these entries with those of the Syndicate, which wishes to confine itself as far as possible to general liquidation operations, we have decided that all entries relating to the Loan would be posted to the account of M. de St. Albin, one of our number.
Thus my account was debited by the Syndicate through its enclosed letter of 22 April with 76,440 francs for payment of the first tenth of 45,500 francs of rente awarded on 19 April at a price of 84 francs.
You must therefore credit the Syndicate, as agreed, with 76,440 francs, debiting an account which you will open under the heading “Loan of 120 Million”.
Here now is the allocation to be made of these 45,500 francs of rente.
[Table: annual rente; capital; first tenth; instruction]
M. J. [Cordier?]: 10,000; 168,000; 16,800; value on the 30th; you will provide it to me.
M. [Araud?]: 5,000; 84,000; 8,400; to be posted to his debit [short term uncertain], as of 19 April.
M. L. [Burm...?]: 5,000; 84,000; 8,400; Ditto, to the current account [short account qualification/date uncertain] in February.
M. [Stackler?]: 1,000; 16,800; 1,680; Ditto.
Mme Martellier: 1,000; 16,800; 1,680; [ditto marks repeating the preceding instruction].
My son the General: 2,000; 33,600; 3,360; Ditto, to his account [crossed-out word] when you can.
My brother Louis: 1,000; 16,800; 1,680; to his account.
My son Jérôme: 500; 8,400; 840; to his account.
Totals: 25,500; 428,400; 42,840.
Notes
The table separates annual rente, capital price and the first tenth. Short undeciphered passages and uncertain names are marked explicitly.

Thus this Loan Account, already debited with 76,440 francs for the first tenth of 764,400, the price of 45,500, will be credited with 42,840, out of 428,400, the price of 25,500 assigned to others.
There remain 33,600, capital 336,000, rente 20,000, which I retain personally for my own interest in the Loan.
Once these entries have been made, the balance of this account will therefore be 33,600 francs on the debit side.
You will note that on 6 May I shall be able to have the securities, that is, Loan Certificates; I shall then be able to deliver them to whoever asks me for them. I was debited only as of 6 May with the 76,440 credited to M. de St. Albin, because he will settle with the Treasury the difference in discount from 19 April. But the Company has decided, while charging no commission to anyone, although it had been obliged to make the deposit of 3 million for everyone before the 19th, before the definitive award, to recover that difference in discount nevertheless, and that each of the associates who entered the Loan would be debited with value date 19 April.
My next Loan letters will give you the transactions relating to the second tenth, and they will concern only the 20,000 francs which I own.
A thousand kind regards,
[Henry?]

Ne prenant de Commission à personne is positively read from the original-resolution region by B and ROOT; the original elliptical sentence construction is retained, without inventing extra words.
