Here is a letter from Mr [Joas?]. Please have it copied into [his?] book, then send it to the [R. Pʳ.?] of Belfort under Treasury cover, placing his letters with the others.
Give me an extract from General Reiset’s account, the house at St Germain, for 1830 and 1831.
Here is a letter from the Bank [addition: of France] dated the 26th, remitting 77,943.90 francs in Customs bills, 1 to 15 May. Acknowledge its receipt and tell the Bank that, as agreed on the terms, you will make the return remittances in bills through the Treasury after collection, as it wishes.
Here is what happened: about a fortnight ago, when it needed funds, the Treasury negotiated with the Bank all the Customs bills it held in its portfolio. The Bank has already collected those on nearby departments and still holds those on distant departments. Otherwise I would have made arrangements for the Bank of Rouen for the bills on Seine-Inférieure. I had reached an understanding with the Bank [addition: of France?] on these terms. But as it insisted on long-dated paper and I could find none, I had to ask the Treasury for permission to draw and for a promise to accept on unstamped paper. This is agreed with the Treasury. The terms are quite favourable. I would [prefer?] you not to remit the proceeds of collection in bills to the Bank of Rouen, especially before my return to Rouen, because it will be displeased by this negotiation, which it had [asked?] me to conduct and which I was able to secure for Rouen.
[Compact addition at lower right: I hope to obtain that it requires nothing for Le Havre and Dieppe, two ports which remit 15 [unclear abbreviation] to the Treasury.]
Notes
The compact lower-right addition reaches the physical paper edge. The abbreviation following 15 remains unclear. Mirrored bleedthrough is not duplicated.

V. me Remettrez 38,862.20 par Paris long
et m’annoncez l’envoi Nᵒ 57.
Tout à vous [à la hâte?] [paraphe]

I received your letter of yesterday. Cover my colleague in Dijon as usual, but with a payment order on the Treasury instead of bills. In general, reduce [crossed out: now?] your drawings in short-dated bills and do not draw anything further with maturity beyond 15 June.
As to the claim by the colleague in Calvados to receive your couriers, I shall see if there is a way to arrange it otherwise.
You will remit 38,862.20 to me in long-dated paper on Paris, and you announce dispatch No. 57 to me.
Yours entirely [in haste?] [flourish].
