9th: he received interest from [Salins?], 1,072.
Ditto: [abbreviation undeciphered], to be returned for General Reiset, 540 of 3 per cent rente, for 10,786.50.
Total: 40,608.50.

[Table, right column]

16th: received in payment, 17,095.60 [digits reworked].
22nd: ditto, 11,358.50.
Total: 40,608.50.

But since I am letting my brother collect the difference between 10,786.50 and 9,948.40, namely 838.10, you will make no entries under cash, but Chaulet will remain credited with 838.10.
Here is a letter from [Delaroche?] at [Périgueux?], which please have copied and sent.
I have received your letter of yesterday.
I do not see how the Bank will collect the bills domiciled with [Demiaunay?]. Nevertheless, notice must be given there that the debtors are each referred back to the Bank.
A thousand kind regards.
[paraph]

[Postscript at lower left]
Please have two seats reserved on the Neufchâtel diligence, rue du Bac, for the morning of the 28th in the name of Mr de Cambon.
[Lighter pencil note: paid 5 francs as [a deposit?].]

Notes

The two accounting columns and separate 838.10 difference are retained. The writer lets his brother collect the difference, and instructs no cash entry; Chaulet remains credited. The postscript reserves two seats on the Neufchâtel diligence, rue du Bac, for the morning of the 28th in Mr de Cambon’s name. The earlier front-seats/Cour des Fontaines reading is withdrawn. Pencil deposit word remains qualified.
