English translation
Paris, 23 April 1831.
Here is a letter to Mr [Delage?], with the proof of the Savings Bank’s account and my notes on that proof.
Please deliver everything to Mr Dejean, expressing my surprise that he allowed an account as hasty and ill-formed as Mr [Rivat?]’s to be entered; he ought previously to have compared it with his own.
He will tell me Mr [Delage?]’s reply, and will settle the account definitively, nevertheless returning the latter to me if he has any difficulty settling them.
You may receive 1000 francs, more or less, which will be offered [to you?] for young [Yorel?] and which I shall pay him here.
I have received your letter of yesterday.
I shall deliver the letter to [Gibert?].
I return your notice concerning [repairs?] to the Rec[ette] particulière [particular receivership]. Please ask Mr Fontaine to look into it and have whatever is necessary done in this respect.
I see the investment offered for Mr [Laguenne?]; that is good.
I see that cash is still plentiful with you.
A thousand good wishes to [undeciphered name].
[Initials]
Notes
Documentary annotation: [Underlined mark at upper left] Il me dira ... et arrêtera is positively read in the original-resolution line. The returned-notice purpose abbreviation remains qualified [Répar.?], and Rec[ette] is an explicit editorial expansion. Names remain uncertain; the closing is a greeting followed by initials.
