Letter and account instructions - Paris, 14 April 1831
English translation
Paris, 14 April 1831
I return the settled [Paccard?] accounts, for my [draft?] to his order for 596.71 francs, on the 20th [of the current month?], on the Syndicate. Notify him of this arrangement.
I entered 244.60 for lost bills, because it seems to me that there was an account open under that name. If that is not the case, enter them in profit and loss.
I thought the 45 francs had already been entered in the account of [undeciphered name]; he will have to be notified of this debit.
I entered the 550 in [Didier’s?] account, until I can find out what this gratuity actually is.
I have received your letter of yesterday — I shall have nothing to answer.
Look again among my entries and [search again?] if you do not find the [selles?] account.
I shall make a reply to the prefect according to the letter from [undeciphered name].
A thousand kind regards, goodbye.
[Paraph]
[Addition at the lower left]
Tell the Syndicate to credit my colleague [undeciphered designation] with 100 francs, debiting me, value today. It is for reimbursement that I drew to the order of Mr Blanchard, at sight, payable in Strasbourg. Debit the Blanchard account.
