Letter with financial instructions - Paris, 11 April 1831

English translation

Paris, 11 April 1831.

So as not to forget it, please send a card from Mr and Mrs [Rieux?] to Mr Adrien [Pérrier?] of the Tribunal, concerning whom you sent me a letter of announcement.
Here are the two letters from [Delpas?] to be answered.
You asked that 1200 in 3% and 1200 in 5%, for [Rebaud?], be purchased at the stock exchange on the 9th. This purchase was indeed made on Saturday: the 1200 francs in 3% at 56.50 and the 1200 in 5% at 86.17½.
Send me the statement as of 1 January, for both 1830 and 1831, by return of post, please.
Here are the triplicates of Chaulet’s statements for the purchases of 9 April.
I have received your letter of yesterday.
I see Mr Bourgeois’s observations concerning the 10-franc shortfall in one of the money bags brought back [by?] Jérôme to your cash-office boy. I had misunderstood when telling you that the transport bag had been weighed: only the money bags were weighed as they were taken out of the transport bag, and they assure me that they carefully examined the money bag that had been found too light and that it was in very good condition.
Hand the bill on Belfort preferably to Mr [undeciphered name].
For the time being I shall make the correction [from the top?], starting with the 100-franc advance entry.
I give the order for the purchases, except for the 50 francs [uncertain name], for today, Monday. More on Tuesday.
[Addition at the foot:] Only, you do not tell me about the preceding supply; however, [uncertain designation] said that he would make a request. Call at my house for this purpose.
[Initials]

Notes

Documentary annotation: [Underlined mark at upper left]
Documentary annotation: + It is indeed essential [crossed-out word] that this register be opened each month. It is a simple, properly closed statement showing the date, the name, the amount [in?] rente, the capital amount at par, and a column for the amount paid on account. Let me know what is done in that respect each day.
The short phrase “par le haut” in the correction of the 100-franc advance entry remains qualified. Personal names or designations are uncertain where marked. The register distinguishes the rente amount, capital at par and payments on account. The vertical left-hand addition and the small foot addition are retained once. References to two letters and triplicate statements do not establish that another supplied scan is an enclosure.
