English translation

Paris, 7 April 1831.

Here is a letter from [Loyer?] and 54,543.10. Bill [undeciphered qualification].
I have received your letter of yesterday and the notice of your dispatch No.52.
You will be rid of the porter; you may [consider him paid?]. But he must account for the incoming bundles of firewood received from [undeciphered name]. He must also be given his wages; he must have [received?] [line ends here in the source]. Mr Bourgeois will settle them, and as he is otherwise a good fellow, he must be paid the whole month of April [abbreviation] as a gratuity for him. Fill the vacancy tomorrow. I do not [know?], but tell him that I [crossed-out word] do not have Mr [Riboud?]’s fortune.
A thousand kind regards to [the little one?].
[Initials]

Notes

Documentary annotation: [Underlined mark at upper left]
The likely reading sais in a brief personal aside and the expansion of the closing abbreviation pᵗᵉ are qualified. Other uncertain names, instrument description and local wage forms remain explicitly bracketed.
