[Chaulet?] bought yesterday:
1,500 francs for [Walle…?]
50 for [Ociré?]
60 for [Bayelle?]
200 for [Cauvin?]
1,810 at an average price of 81.25.
I obtained repayment of the security deposit I held with Mr [Humann?] of Strasbourg. After the sum of 14,620.03 had been paid for my share (as he has done for his own), [word deleted], the amount is to be entered to his credit in accordance with his correspondence, the entries from which I shall send you. I received a registered holding of 2,600 francs in annuities, which I sold at once at yesterday’s price of 81.40.
I have received your letter of yesterday and [deleted: its] contents.
Here is a letter for [Moulainy?]. It is in some measure official. You will [communicate it?] to Demange. I hope that it will [word deleted] persuade him to accept. I believe I am doing all I can for him by advancing 3,000 francs, but I do not want to be responsible for his son’s annuity.
[Moulainy?] was wrong not to write at once to Mr [Lor…?]. I need, by return of post, a note of what [Bretteville?] is worth. Is that not [a place?] in the arrondissement of Yvetot? And what complaint is there against [the collector; form of address uncertain]?
Entirely yours, [initials].

Notes

Names in the purchase list, the locality in the closing inquiry and a few abbreviated words are uncertain.
