Reiset 1831 Catalogue
The principal letters, written in Paris chiefly from March to May 1831, are attributed to Jacques-Louis-Étienne de Reiset, receiver-general of finances for Seine-Inférieure and a regent of the Banque de France. He sends instructions on tax remittances, bills of exchange and the allocation of subscriptions to France’s 120-million-franc state loan. Receipts, accounts and forms preserve the paperwork behind those transactions.
